How to create a YouTube Thumbnail
Approach
Nondestructive editing techniques were introduced to our class at the start of the semester, prompting a shift in my approach to crafting YouTube thumbnails. I discovered the effectiveness of using layer masks to organically alter and enhance images. The image featuring Whataburger was sourced through a Google search, while the one featuring my face was obtained from The Philadelphia Art Museum. In the video, I elucidated the concept of nondestructive editing and provided a tutorial on adding layer masks to images. Additionally, I demonstrated the use of the brush tool and emphasized the importance of selecting the right color swatches to achieve desired effects. To streamline the editing process and keep viewers engaged, I sped up certain segments of the video. Following the completion of editing, I introduced the thumbnail and concluded with customary YouTube gestures, expressing gratitude to viewers, encouraging them to subscribe, and inviting them to stay tuned for future content.
